Work safety with GREEN NDT

How do PFINDER NDT consumables contribute to improving work safety?

An important driving force behind all new and further developments at PFINDER NDT is always the reduction of potential hazards during manufacture and product use. And this with the same or even improved testing properties.

Consumables for magnetic particle or penetrant testing are mixtures of different ingredients. Their hazard potential result from the sum of the single ingredients used. By consciously selecting raw materials, it is therefore often possible to develop a product that has little or no impact on work safety.

All information on this can be found in the safety data sheet, which is created for each product and is available to every user. The most important information is also available on the product label using pictograms and further declarations.

Examples of improved work safety with PFINDER

The CLP Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008 is an EU regulation on the classification, labeling and packaging of substances and mixtures. "CLP" stands for Classification, Labeling and Packaging. It came into force on 20 January 2009 and is based on the Globally Harmonized System (GHS) of the United Nations.

The GHS has been adopted by many countries worldwide. It provides a basis for standardized hazard classes and categories, hazard symbols (pictograms), hazard statements and precautionary statements (H and P phrases).

PFINDER NDT generally refrains from using ingredients with a high risk potential.

Many PFINDER NDT consumables are "label-free" since many years. I.e. free from hazardous ingredients or pose only a moderate hazard potential. Risks are further minimized by using them as intended and following the recommended precautions (e.g. personal safety equipment).

PFINDER stands for "THINKING AHEAD SINCE 1884." - Find out how our GREEN NDT expertise can improve your processes as well.

Below are some examples of how PFINDER implements this in relation to products:

Fluorescent penetrant

PFINDER 900W is the world's first "label-free" water-based penetrant, i.e. without hazardous ingredients. Like the entire PFINDER 900 series, it is a further alternative to classic mineral oil-based products.

Conformity with ISO 3452-2 proves PFINDER's claim of uncompromising quality.

Black magnetic powder suspension

PFINDER 240 is a black, water-based magnetic powder suspension. Due to the non-flammable propellant gas, even the aerosol can is "label-free". It can be used as a safer alternative to oil-based products.

Conformity with ISO 9934-2 proves PFINDER NDT's claim of uncompromising quality.

Fluorescent magnetic powder concentrate

PFINDER 130 is a water-based fluorescent magnetic powder concentrate. Despite the concentrated form of the ingredients, which allow application in 2.5% dilution, the product is "label-free".

The conformity with ISO 9934-2 proves PFINDER NDT's claim of uncompromising quality.
